7:30 PM - 8:30 PMAT LAST! THE FIRST RABBI PATZ SPEAKER SERIES!
Four years ago, the congregation decided to honor our emeritus rabbi, Rabbi Norman Patz, by establishing an annual lecture series in honor of his then-fifty years of service to the congregation. Our first speaker, Rabbi Dr. David Ellenson, was scheduled but the unscheduled appearance of COVID preempted his presentation and forced a long postponement.
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Ellenson will at last be joining us at the Erev Shabbat service on June 9th. Dr. Ellenson is one of the most prominent personalities in our Reform Movement and beyond. He was president of HUC-JIR, our rabbinical, cantorial and educational seminary, and subsequently, its chancellor. His scholarship and wisdom are widely respected, and he is a most engaging speaker and beloved teacher – warm, charming, down-to-earth: a mensch.
