Our Jewish Youth Community

Our Youth Community:

       Religious School
        Junior and Senior Youth Groups
        Teen Involvement Programming
        Family-Education Programming

Our goals are:

  • to engage each youngster in a strong and vibrant community
  • to affirm personal and heartfelt Jewish identity in each of your young people.
  • to transmit the understanding that in Judaism, education and experience are intertwined
  • to teach our children that Judaism is making critical decisions, choosing to act, sustaining friendship, understanding family, valuing tradition and dreaming about the future

The Religious School meets:

Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. for kindergarten through 3rd grade

Monday and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. for 4th through 7th grade

The high school program, grades 8 thorugh 10, addresses topics of interest to teens including social justice and interpersonal relationships. Sessions are held every other Tuesday.

The Junior and Senior Youth Groups each meet once a month for both community service projects and social activities.

Family activities provide a wide range of programs to involve congregants in celebrating Jewish holidays, enjoying Jewish-themed cultural activities, and learning about Reform Judaism. These programs meet once a month on Sundays.

The Teen Involvement Program (TIP) offers opportunities for participation in a wide variety of Jewish activities from hands-on social action to cooking to discussing Jewish current events and ethics. A teen can choose to be involved in one event or all of our offerings. Our program is open to any interested Jewish teen living in the West Essex area.
